Unlikely Heroes in San Francisco

January 29th, 2012 was a momentous day in the Epicenter world. We hosted Erica Greve of Unlikely Heroes, and her team of world changers, and screened a documentary entitled "Sex+Money: A National Search For Human Worth." This documentary follows a group of journalists in an RV around the USA, as they learn about the sexual exploitation of children in the USA.

100,000 children are sold for sex on the streets of the United States EVERY DAY.

This statistic should be horrific. It should be shocking. It should make us sick to the pit of our stomach. Yet somehow we have been anesthetized and desensitized to the horrors of the local, national and international sex trade. That number has become just one more statistic to add to the incomprehensible notion that there are as many as 27 million slaves in our world today. Throwaway girls as young as twelve are walking our streets being convinced by pimps that they are loved and cherished; and are being fed the lie that love looks like being beaten and sold and kept in bondage.

Righteous indignation (that spurs us to action) has to arise. Our sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, grandsons and granddaughters are being taught that their worth revolves around someone else's sexual gratification in return for a few bucks!

The documentary rocked my world. It changed everything in a moment; left a bitter taste in my mouth, and strengthened the resolve in my spirit to see slavery ended in my lifetime. The sentiment of Erica Greve in her exhortation was this: "Are we willing to give our lives for the sake of others? Are we willing to put the freedom of future children above our own goals of personal success?" Unlikely Heroes certainly is. They are building restoration homes worldwide, giving child victims of sexual exploitation clinically sound therapy, a safe home, an education, and above all, a second chance at life.

My answer will be forever this: "God, you can have my home, my friends, and my family. But I have to see you move in power." What's yours?

09/20/2011 - First Day of School!

Hi,

ESSM starts 09/20/2011 at 18:30.

If you, or anyone you know are interested in attending - come check it out. The night promises to be off the hook - We are going to have a time of worship; going to watch a teaching by Bill Johnson; going to spend time ministering to and prophesying over each other and getting to know each other better.

If you know anyone else who has any interest in the school, or in revival culture at all - invite them to class on Tuesday. Give them the web address. Give them the blog details. We want to see as many people trained and equipped in all that God has in store for them as is possible.

40 Days of Miracles

So, since moving to San Francisco things haven't been the easiest logistically. In fact, we have been hitting some pretty major roadblocks.

That said; 8 days ago I woke up with a thought. God has never not come through for me yet. I began to think about all the miracles that have happened in my life. I began to feast on the bounty that has been Gods ever - increasing (and genuinely awe-inspiring) goodness to me. I also allowed myself to think about all the things that God could possibly do in my situation, and in the lives of people around me. God had the opportunity to show up and show off in pretty major ways!

An idea began to formulate in my mind. Instead of stressing out (which I am awesome at) I decided that I would make a choice to expect God to show up and to change my circumstances to align with His truth, abundance, provision, and with the fullness that Jesus paid for.

Fueled with inspiration and caffeine; I decided I should put action behind my new found faith that God was going to invade my circumstances. (Eph 3:20/Philippians 4:19)

My house-family and I decided to make a journal, documenting all of the miracles that were about to take place. We decided that there would be an entry for every day, and that we were going to watch God transform not just our lives, but the lives of our family and friends, our church, and our city.

We are now 8 days in, and let me tell you - this thing works. We have seen more answers to prayer than I could have dreamed - and we have 32 more days to go!!

Choose to position yourself in a place of eager expectation of the goodness of God. Let Him be extravagant to you, through you, and around you. And keep a record of all that He does. Build a culture that remembers and feasts on the things that God does.

He is SO good - let Him show you.

Allow me to introduce myself…

My name is Rebecca. Two weeks ago my son Trace and I moved across the globe (for the second time) from our hometown of Manchester, England, to pastor Epicenter School of Supernatural Ministry in San Francisco, CA.

ESSM is a Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry affiliated ministry training school designed to train and equip powerful individuals who have a desire to take God's presence into their sphere of influence. ESSM is being hosted by Promised Land Fellowship - an awesome, spirit filled church right in the heart of SF.

I believe that God has big plans for the city of San Francisco. I believe with my whole heart that God adores this city, and I am honored to get to play a part in seeing this city covered with His glory. I loved San Francisco before I ever saw it. I have had dreams of being in this city; of flying over the Golden Gate bridge; of training and equipping people to bring transformation into their realms of influence. Now here I am - living my dreams.

Let me give you a little bit of background info. I packed up my comfortable christian life into four suitcases (for the first time) at the age of 19. I moved to the small town of Redding CA, in search of God. It was that simple. I heard feint whisperings of a God who was real, of a God who could invade the world with His goodness, and of a christian life that involved bringing heaven to earth. I heard stories of cancer being healed. I heard testimonies of limbs growing, of tumors disappearing, of poverty being eradicated in a city. As I heard stories of what was happening in this tiny town in Northern California I began to cry. Inwardly, I made a covenant with God. I said "God, you can have my home, my friends, and my family; but I have to see you move in power."

I was desperate - desperate to no longer pay lip-service to the religious traditions of my family but to find God for myself. And so the journey began.

When I say 'it was that simple' please let me explain - the decision to follow the prompting of the Lord was simple. Packing life into suitcases was relatively simple. Overcoming the obstacles of having no money, no flights, no accommodation, no visa, and a lost passport just weeks before I was due to leave for the US; even that was a simple fix for the King of Kings.

What I encountered whilst living in Redding CA and attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry was a branding. My heart and my flesh began to burn for revival, for personal, economic, societal, and global transformation. I began to be stirred with a desire to raise up an army of people who also longed to be able to give the world an encounter with God.

Moving to San Francisco to pastor Epicenter School of Supernatural Ministry marks the beginning of a new chapter in life for me and my son, for the students of ESSM and for the city of San Francisco.

You are so welcome to join us! School starts 09/20/2011 at 18:30 at Promised Land Fellowship.

See you there,

Love
Rebecca

P.S. - This is a pic of me and my son - it's always great to be able to put faces to names ;)
